Our Story

BC and ME, Michelle and Erin. Still Standing, Sassy and Stylish.
No vague promises.BC & Me is independently owned and is not affiliated with a cancer charity. Purchases do not represent charitable donations unless a specific product page says otherwise.

Meet Michelle and Erin. Best friends for nearly 30 years. We talk almost every day - the kind of friendship where you're still picking up mid-conversation even after decades.

In 2020, Erin was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma on her right side. In 2026, Michelle got the same diagnosis on her left side.

Unbelievable? Yes. Sad? Absolutely. But also - this happens more often than anyone wants to admit. Cancer doesn't care about plot armor or timing. Two best friends. Two diagnoses. Same damn disease. Now breast friends.

Here's what we don't connect with: the endless stream of sappy slogans. “I Can.” “Breast Cancer Journey.” Fight Like a Girl. We get it - we don't fault anyone who finds comfort in those words, and if those resonate with you, awesome. But for us? They didn't feel real. We wanted something with more bite. More honesty. A little more “what the hell” energy.

So we built this. Merchandise made for women who are living through this, and the supporters standing beside them - not the version of survival packaged for Instagram, but the messy, complicated, sassy truth.

No platitudes. Just two best friends who happen to know each other's diagnosis dates by heart, making stuff that speaks the language we actually use.

Welcome. Grab something that fits. And hey - if you're reading this, you probably understand.

Real talk September 5, 2026

You do not have to love the pink ribbon

Awareness can be meaningful without asking every survivor to feel cheerful, grateful, or camera-ready.

There is no correct way to look like a survivor. You can wear pink every day, never wear it at all, or change your mind whenever you want.

For us, honesty mattered more than polished slogans. We wanted language that could make room for the mess, the anger, the humor, and the fact that surviving does not always feel inspirational.

Your story belongs to you. Choose the words, colors, and symbols that actually feel like yours.

What to say when you do not know what to say

Skip the perfect speech. A simple, specific offer can mean far more than a slogan ever will.

Read the post

You do not need to find a silver lining. Start by listening. Say that you are here, that you care, and that you can handle the honest answer.

Specific help is often easier to accept than a broad offer. Try, "I can bring dinner Tuesday or Thursday. Which works better?" The goal is not to fix the impossible. It is to make one part of the day lighter.

Keep showing up after the first rush of messages fades. Treatment, recovery, and life after diagnosis do not follow a neat calendar.
